do you have what you need to create your brand story?
The demand for compelling stories has never been greater due to the amount of content being produced every day. Being memorable and relevant is a key objective for brands.
Are you part of that venture? Do you want to build a trustworthy brand and tell influential and impactful stories?
My name is Noah, and as you already saw (or will see) in my portfolio, I am an Art Director and I would like to collaborate with you in designing and telling your story. But first I want to explain how my journey to discover my story will assist you in crafting yours.
Every story has a beginning
I remember when I saw The Lion King for the first time back in the 90s, with my brothers sitting in our small living room in Damascus, Syria. The 4 of us sitting crammed up against the small TV and the VHS player, remember VHS players?! We were crying with Simba, laughing and singing with Timon and Pumbaa. Fascinated with how colorful and vibrant it was, I couldn’t stop wondering how they managed to make the characters lips move in perfect time with the spoken words. I know now that my passion for creativity was born in that moment, and this is what I wanted to pursue in life. Life, however, gives us all sort of challenges, so my path didn’t go as planned then.
I moved to Dubai in 2003, managed to work with different jobs, from customer service representative, admission and marketing assistant to legal assistant. Those jobs were far from what I wanted to do however, they added resilience, life and professional experience that were essential to what coming next.
and then, everything changed!
After 9 years of building what I thought was my career then, I sought asylum in Sweden in 2013, Shortly after I tried to get into the job market. I had to choose between doing labor work or returning to school as my prior 9 years experience did not qualify. I gave it a shot and spent the summer of 2014 working in hotel housekeeping. After that, I made the decision and applied to university and made the obvious choice, otherwise we wouldn’t be reading this today!
As a freelance 3D artist, I started my new career creating designs for different projects and clients. But I wanted more. I wanted to be more involved and I kept wondering if I had necessary technical knowledge that enabled me to achieve the results I wanted? Is anyone interested in what I have to say? I wondered if I’m wasting my time. I was still in survival mode, but I wasn't aware of it at the time and it was time for me to break the chain.
The moment I surprised myself!
Few months into my new job as a Digital Media Designer at Frank Valiant, I had a meeting with a client. They were working on a story for their product. Listening to the brief, I kept wondering, “What would make the user excited about this? What problem would the product solve?” I started laying out my vision and the outlines for the new approach, and how we can develop a new narrative around that. I pitched my idea and to my surprise, The client approved the new approach! And that marked the beginning of yet another adventure.
and I learned that …
I realized where my strengths lie and how everything I did had been preparing me for this moment and the ones that followed. My experiences, adventures, setbacks, and desires have all helped me articulate myself and convey things I'm proud of. and discover how to connect to others while telling a relatable story!
now How can my story help yours?
In addition to the design and creative skills I have, compassion has always been my way and superpower! It has helped me learn and unlearn my values through the stories I’ve heard, and now I apply that to the stories I create. It has made it possible for me to collaborate with my clients, to produce impactful authentic stories that resonate with the their customers and align with the brand values and guidelines. At the same time build a creative and communicative relations.
On the plus side, my work allowed for shrinking the gap between the client and the designers. Which simply means: a happier creative team.
The journey is not over yet! I want to bring my story with me into new projects. I want to develop my skills in brand strategy and design while working with a diverse team and bring ideas to life.
